Academic Opportunities

Credit Recovery and Grade Forgiveness:  Need to make up credits or boost your GPA?  Ask your school counselor about the following options:  Credit recovery lab or taking St. Johns Virtual courses.

Career Academies:  Students enrolled at St. Johns Technical High School can enroll in our Culinary Academy or Aquaculture Academy.  If you have any questions about our academies, you can contact our career specialist, Ms. Andrea Armstrong at 904-547-8130.

Vocational Courses:  Students can also enroll in vocational courses (schedule permitting) during the school day at First Coast Technical College.

FCTC Secondary Programs (Electives) Offered for 9th – 12th grades:

  • Culinary Arts
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Landscape Operations
  • Horticulture Science and Services

FCTC Dual Enrollment (College Courses) Offered for 11th-12th grades:

  • Automotive Service Technology

  • Diesel Systems Technician
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R)
  • Medical Assisting (returning students only)
  • Phlebotomy and Electrocardiograph Technology
  • Professional Culinary Arts and Hospitality
  • Welding
  • Landscape & Turf Management (open to 9th – 12th grades)
  • Nursery Management (open to 9th – 12th grades)

St. Augustine High School Courses:  Students can also take courses at St. Augustine High School if they are not offered at St. Johns Technical High School (if space is available).
